At Cottage Neighborhoods, we believe that neighborhoods must be planned and built to meet human needs of beauty, connection and affordability. Now days, when neighborhoods are mostly built around the needs of the automobile and people are separated by streets and garages, much of this feeling of belonging has been lost. Cottage Neighborhoods is about re-establishing a saner, happier way of living; one in harmony with the environment and community. We believe community starts when one neighbor reaches out to another and begins creating relationships of sharing and support.
In Crestone, Colorado, at the foot of the spectacular Sangre de Cristo Mountains, we are promoting sustainable living in a small town environment. Cottage Neighborhoods is located near downtown, a short walk to the post office, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. Walking promotes health and neighborly interaction and minimizes the use of our biggest polluter: the automobile.
Two of our six homes will have been built using the designs of nationally renowned architect Ross Chapin. Each home design is wonderfully scaled, richly detailed, and created to nourish the individual, support positive family relationships and foster a strong sense of neighborhood.
